Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 c
- water - 1 c
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 15 oz
- parsley - 2 tsp
- cloves minced garlic - 2 item
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- seasoning salt - 1 tsp
- cleaned raw shrimp
- cooked long grain rice - 3 c
- chopped bell peppers - 1 c
- crushed bay leaf - 1 item
How to make shrimp creole:
Stirring constantly, cook onion, bell pepper, celery and garlic in butter until tender. Add tomato sauce, shrimp, parsley and other seasonings. Cover and cook slowly about 20 minutes or until shrimp are tender. (If too thick, add water. If not thick enough, mix a heaping teaspoonful of flour and 1/4 cup of water and pour into mixture, stirring constantly.) Serve over rice.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
