Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3 c
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped celery - 1/4 c
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • pepper to taste - 1 item
  • olive oil - 4 Tbsp
  • hot cooked rice - 1 item
  • can whole tomatoes - 1 oz
  • clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
  • chopped green peppers - 1/4 c
  • boiled and cleaned shrimp - 3 lb

How to make shrimp creole:

Pour olive oil in heavy saucepan. Stir in celery, onion and green pepper. Cook until tender. Add garlic and pepper to taste. In a bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, water and whole tomatoes. Cut shrimp into 1/2-inch pieces and blend into tomato mixture. Add to the onion, green pepper and celery mixture. Cook slowly for 3 to 4 hours or place in slow cooker. Serve over hot rice.
