Seafood gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- flour
- shortening
- pepper - 1 item
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- parsley - 2 Tbsp
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- shrimp, shelled and deveined - 3 lb
- water approximately - 2 qt
- crab meat - 1 lb
- bunch green onions, chopped - 1 item
- ribs celery, chopped - 3 item
- medium can tomato sauce - 1 item
- oysters
- pods garlic, minced - 3 item
- medium can whole tomatoes - 1 item
- small boxes frozen okra, chopped - 2 item
How to make seafood gumbo:
Roux:1 c. shortening1 1/2 c. flour Melt shortening in a hot iron skillet. Stir in flour. Cook until dark brown. Stir in 2 cups of the large chopped onions. Add remaining ingredients except seafood and file. Cook until vegetables are tender. AddRecipe categories: One Dish meal, Gumbo, Stew.
