Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1 tsp
- margarine or butter - 3 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- small onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- potatoes 6 medium - 2 lb
How to make scalloped potatoes:
Prepare potatoes. Cut to measure about 4 cups. Heat 3 tablespoons of butter until melted. Add flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Arrange potatoes in greased casserole, 3 layers, topping each with 1/2 of the onion and 1/3 of the white sauce. Cover and bake in a 325° oven for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake until potatoes are tender, 60 to 70 minutes longer.Recipe categories: Low protein, Potato, Vegetables.
