- milk - 3/4 1
- flour - 3/4 c
- butter - 3/4 c
- sliced onion - 1 c
- shredded cheese - 2 c
- sliced potatoes
- cans Spam, diced - 2 item
How to make scalloped potatoes:
In a large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour to make smooth paste. Slowly add milk, stirring with slotted spoon constantly. Stir until mixture slightly thickens. In Dutch oven layer, potatoes, onion, Spam and cheese, sprinkling each layer with salt and pepper. Pour milk mixture over. If mixture does not cover completely, pour in enough milk to cover. Bake in a 350° oven until potatoes are tender, approximately 1 1/2 hours. Cover for 1 hour, then uncover for the last 1/2 hour.Recipe categories: Low protein, Potato, Vegetables.
