Savory green beans
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/3 c
- dried dill weed - 3/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- savory - 1/2 tsp
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- fresh green beans - 1 lb
- red bell pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- yellow bell pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- medium tomatoes, chopped - 3 item
How to make savory green beans:
Wash and string beans. Set aside. In 4-quart saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter and saute onion and peppers about 5 minutes or until tender. Add water and seasonings. Bring to a boil and add green beans. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Add tomatoes and continue cooking until beans are tender, about 10 minutes.
