Ingredients/Components

  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
  • caraway seed - 2 tsp
  • onion, finely chopped - 1/2 c
  • clove garlic, finely chopped - 1 item
  • slices bacon - 8 item
  • hot oil - 1 item
  • can sauerkraut, drained - 1 oz
  • mashed potatoes or more - 1/2 c
  • Special K cereal, crushed

How to make sauerkraut balls:

Fry bacon until crisp; drain and crumble. Pour off all but 2 tablespoons fat. Saut?© onion and garlic until tender. Stir in bacon, sauerkraut, potatoes and parsley. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper lined baking sheet and form into a ball. Cover with waxed paper and refrigerate until firm. Mix cereal and caraway seed. Dip balls in egg mixture and roll in seeds and cereal. Deep fry.
