Rice pudding
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- cinnamon - 1 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 6 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- heavy cream - 1 c
- long grain rice - 3/4 c
- egg yolks, beaten - 3 item
How to make rice pudding:
Rinse medium saucepan with cold water (do not dry). Pour in milk and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in rice. Return to boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered until rice is tender (40 minutes), stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, in small bowl combine cream, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla and salt. Set aside.When rice is tender, stir in cream mixture until completely combined. Heat to boil. Remove from heat. Pour into 2-quart serving dish. Sprinkle surface with cinnamon. Chill at least 4 hours.
