  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • lukewarm water - 1 c
  • shortening or butter - 1/8 1/4

How to make refrigerator rolls:

Dissolve yeast in water. Sift flour and salt together 2 or 3 times. Cream shortening or butter and the sugar. Then beat egg and mix in with shortening and sugar. When yeast is dissolved in water, add it to shortening mixture. Add flour a little at a time. Mix until flour is mixed in. Cover with a wet towel or lid until you are ready to press it out. Shape dough. Let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Bake at 350°.
