- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/4 lb
- soda
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- red food coloring - 2 oz
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Make a paste of the food coloring and cocoa. Add to creamed mixture. Mix baking soda and vinegar; fold into cake mixture. Do not beat. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes (check after 10 minutes).Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, American.
