- stick margarine - 1 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- chopped nuts optional - 1 item
- stick margarine, softened - 1 item
- bottle red food coloring - 1 item
- 1/2 boxes powdered sugar - 1 item
- box yellow butter cake mix - 1 item
How to make red velvet cake:
Icing:2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 stick margarine chopped nuts (optional)1 1/2 boxes powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Mix cake mix with cocoa. Add vanilla, buttermilk, margarine, food coloring and eggs. Mix and add the vinegar and soda that have been mixed. Beat for 4 minutes at medium speed. Bake in 3 greased and floured pans at 375° for approximately 15 minutes. Test with toothpick.Icing: Mix softened cream cheese, margarine and vanilla. Add nuts. Gradually add sugar until smooth. Ice cake.
