Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 2 c
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • raisins - 2 c
  • unsweetened applesauce - 1 c
  • nutmeg or allspice - 1/2 tsp

How to make raisin bars:

Boil water and raisins until water is gone; let cool. Add applesauce, eggs, sweetener and oil; mix together. Blend in the rest of the ingredients. Spoon into greased 11 x 17-inch pan and bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Bake longer if pan is smaller. When cool, cut in bars.

These are diabetic because they have no sugar. However, they do have some goodies in them so even though they are lower in calories than your average cookie, they do still have a fair amount of calories, so do not eat too many if dieting.
