Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening
  • white vinegar - 1 Tbsp

How to make pie crust:

Mix first 3 ingredients until the size of small peas or crumbly. Add together water, egg and vinegar. Stir with fork. Pour over flour mixture. Stir until all is moistened. Make 5 flat balls or patties. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Roll dough on floured cloth.

Makes 5 single crusts or 2 double crusts. Can be refrigerated up to 2 weeks or frozen up to 6 months.
