Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 3 tsp
  • cider vinegar - 1/2 c
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • large green pepper - 1 item
  • tomatoes, peeled and chopped - 8 c
  • or 3 onions, chopped - 2 item
  • to 7 jalapeno peppers - 4 item

How to make picante sauce:

Chop all ingredients. Cook, uncovered, 3 hours or until fairly thick. Makes 4 pints. Put in jars and process in water bath or pressure canner on 15 pounds pressure for 20 minutes.
