Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- ground ginger - 1 tsp
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- tomatoes cut into wedges - 2 item
- sirloin steak - 1 lb
- small green onion, chopped - 1 item
How to make pepper steak:
Cut sirloin into 1/8 inch strips. Mix soy sauce, ginger and garlic. Marinate beef in sauce in refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours. Brown meat and sauce in large skillet. Reduce heat to low and add onion and tomatoes. Simmer for 2 hours. Turn heat to medium and add cornstarch and water. Remove from heat when gravy thickens. Serve over white rice.
