Ingredients/Components

  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • ground ginger - 1 tsp
  • soy sauce - 1/4 c
  • clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
  • tomatoes cut into wedges - 2 item
  • sirloin steak - 1 lb
  • small green onion, chopped - 1 item

How to make pepper steak:

Cut sirloin into 1/8 inch strips. Mix soy sauce, ginger and garlic. Marinate beef in sauce in refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours. Brown meat and sauce in large skillet. Reduce heat to low and add onion and tomatoes. Simmer for 2 hours. Turn heat to medium and add cornstarch and water. Remove from heat when gravy thickens. Serve over white rice. Serves 2 to 3.
