Pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- ground ginger - 1/2 tsp
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- plus 1 tsp - 1 Tbsp
- can beef broth - 1 item
- Hot cooked rice - 1 item
- boneless sirloin steak
- 1/2 medium onions, sliced - 1 item
- strips - 1/2 medium
- medium tomatoes peeled and cut into wedges or 1 can drained tomato wedges - 2 item
How to make pepper steak:
Partially freeze steak; slice across grain into 2x1/4 in. strips. Brown steak in oil in a skillet over medium-high heat 4-6 minutes. Add beef broth and next four ingredients. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Combine cornstarch, sugar and soy sauce; stirring well. Add to beef mixture and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add tomato wedges and toss gently. Serve over rice.Recipe categories: Main dish, Meat, Beef.
