Pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- oleo - 1/2 c
- garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- white wine optional - 1 item
- mushrooms optional - 1 item
- green peppers, stripped - 2 item
- round steak, stripped - 2 lb
- tomatoes 1 can - 2 c
- beef bouillon cube or 1 can beef broth - 1 item
How to make pepper steak:
Melt butter. Add onions and peppers. Saut?© 2 minutes. Set aside and remove from skillet. Saut?© beef sprinkled with garlic powder. Stir until brown. Add tomatoes and broth or bouillon cubes. Simmer 10 minutes. Blend together cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar and salt. Stir into meat and cook until thickened. Add onions and peppers and heat.From my friend, Jean Towers, now deceased.
