Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 6 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • water - 1/4 c
  • sliced lemon - 1/2 item
  • fresh pears, peeled and sliced - 4 lb

How to make pear preserves:

In a large, heavy pot, combine pears, sugar, water and lemon. Bring to a boil. Lower heat. Cover and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally. Makes about 8 pints.

*If pectin is used, stir in after completely cooked.
