- eggs - 4 item
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- orange rind - 2 Tbsp
- juice of 1/2 orange
- soda, added to buttermilk - 1 tsp
- salt, added to buttermilk - 1/2 tsp
- Add whole eggs, one at a time, and beat after each
How to make orange pound cake:
Cream sugar and butter. Add whole eggs, one at a time, and beat after each. Add half of flour and buttermilk. Beat for one minute. Add remaining flour and buttermilk and the flavoring. Beat 2 minutes more. Bake in tube pan for 1 hour at 350°. Toothpick test when done.Icing:2 Tbsp. grated orange rind juice of 1/2 orange1 box powdered sugar3 Tbsp. butter Add grated orange rind and orange juice to powdered sugar.
