Orange marmalade
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 c
- water - 1 item
- lemon juice - 1/2 c
- navel oranges - 6 item
How to make orange marmalade:
Quarter oranges and put in food processor. Measure the pulp and put in a pot. Add half as much water as pulp and bring the mixture to a boil for 15 minutes. Allow to cool and save overnight (does not need to be refrigerated).The next day, put 6 cups of the orange mixture into a large pot. Add lemon juice. Bring to a boil. Add sugar and bring to a boil again. Boil for 15 to 20 minutes or until the mixture sheets on a spoon. Allow to cool. Put marmalade in sterilized jars. To keep marmalade without having to refrigerate, put the jars on pierced pie plates in a deep pot; cover jars with water and boil them for 15 minutes. Repeat the process for the remaining orange mixture.
