Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- medium onions, sliced - 6 item
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- Swiss cheese, sliced or grated - 3/4 lb
- French bread, sliced 1-inch thick
How to make onion casserole:
Melt butter in pan; add onion slices. Cook until tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Put onions in 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Combine soup, milk, salt and pepper. Pour over onions and layer with cheese. Arrange bread slices on top; brush with butter, if desired. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Eggs/dairy, Side dish, Casseroles.
