Mushroom & swiss cheese quiche
Ingredients/Components
- butter
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- heavy cream - 2 c
- eggs, lightly beaten - 4 item
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- onion, minced - 1 item
- sliced black olives - 1 item
- slices bacon, diced - 2 item
- diced red pepper - 1 item
- mushroom, sliced thin - 1 c
- swiss cheese, cubed - 1 c
- 10 inch pastry shell, baked - 1 item
How to make mushroom & swiss cheese quiche:
Saut?© mushrooms in butter for 3 minutes. In another pan, saut?© bacon until crisp and drain on absorbent paper. Combine mushrooms and bacon; add cheese and onion. Turn mixture into pie shell. Stir cream, nutmeg and pepper into eggs. Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 300 and bake 30 minutes longer. Garnish with red pepper and black olives. Makes 8 large servings.This dish can be made ahead and frozen.
