Mississippi mud cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- dash of salt - 1 item
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1 c
- Bring margarine, water and cocoa to boil
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Mix first 3 ingredients in large bowl. Bring margarine, water and cocoa to boil. Combine eggs, soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Add boiled mixture to egg mixture. Stir in dry ingredients. Pour into greased and floured 12 x 18-inch pan. I use electric beaters on low speed to blend in all ingredients together. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.Frosting:1/2 c. margarine1 tsp. vanilla dash of salt3 heaping Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 lb. powdered sugar1/2 c. chopped walnuts Bring first 5 ingredients to boil. Add powdered sugar. Add walnuts. Immediately pour on cake when you remove from oven.You may want to half frosting recipe; it makes a lot.
