Mexican hot chocolate
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- honey - 3 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- skim milk - 1 qt
- shredded orange peel - 1/2 tsp
- cinnamon sticks optional - 1 item
- cocoa powder unsweetened - 1/4 c
How to make mexican hot chocolate:
In a medium saucepan, combine the cocoa, water, honey, sugar, orange peel and cinnamon. Cook and stir over medium heat about 2 minutes, or until smooth. Gradually stir in milk; heat just until simmering. Do not boil. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into 6 cups. Serve with cinnamon stick stirrers, if desired.
