Mexican corn bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/3 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1/2 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
- onion, chopped - 1/3 c
- green pepper, chopped - 2 Tbsp
- yellow corn meal - 1 c
- can creamed corn - 1 3/4
- hot banana peppers, chopped - 2 Tbsp
How to make mexican corn bread:
In a mixing bowl, combine corn meal, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda. In a second bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Add to dry ingredients and stir only enough to moisten. Pour into greased 9-inch square baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and tests done.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Breads, Mexican.
