Marinara sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 item
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- oregano - 1 tsp
- basil - 1/2 Tbsp
- onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- parsley - 1/2 Tbsp
- tomato paste - 6 oz
- red wine - 1/4 c
- cans tomato puree - 20 oz
- to 2 cloves minced garlic - 1 item
- cans crushed tomatoes - 20 oz
How to make marinara sauce:
Brown onion and garlic in olive oil. Add tomatoes, tomato puree and tomato paste. Add water to thin sauce, if desired. Add spices and baking soda. Simmer for a few hours. Serve over pasta or chicken Parmesan. Add meat or meatballs to sauce.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
