  • sugar - 4 c
  • salt - 4 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 5 c
  • celery seed - 4 Tbsp
  • mustard seed - 4 Tbsp
  • good size onions - 8 item
  • pails full green tomatoes - 2 5
  • red or 3 green peppers - 2 item

How to make indian relish:

Run vegetables through food chopper. Place in a large bowl or container. Mix in salt and let stand overnight. Next day, place in a large canner or kettle. Add vinegar, sugar, mustard seed and celery seed. Mix and cook until vegetables are tender. Pack in canning jars and seal. Hot water bath for 5 minutes.
