  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 1 item
  • finely chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
  • yellow cornmeal - 1 c
  • Bisquick original baking mix - 1 c

How to make hush puppies:

Heat 1 inch oil in Dutch oven to 375°. Mix all ingredients until well blended. Drop by tablespoons into hot oil. Fry about 1 minute, turning once, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot. Yields 15 to 20 hush puppies.

High altitude: Not recommended for use.
