Ingredients/Components

  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • ground cumin - 2 tsp
  • fresh lemon juice - 1 2
  • clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
  • extra virgin olive oil - 6 8
  • cans chickpeas, drained - 2 oz
  • pita bread, cut in wedges - 1 item

How to make hummus:

In a food processor or blender, combine first five ingredients and blend. Drizzle in olive oil with processor running. Add salt and pepper to taste. Makes approximately 2 cups.

Toast pita triangles (if desired) and serve with hummus. Also makes a great open faced sandwich of hummus on pita wedge, sliced tomatoes and alfalfa sprouts.
