Ingredients/Components

  • butter - 1/4 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • soy sauce - 1 tsp
  • chicken broth - 4 c
  • dried oregano - 1 tsp
  • dried thyme - 1 tsp
  • uncooked long grain rice - 2 c

How to make herbed rice pilaf:

In a skillet, saute rice, celery and onion in butter until the rice is lightly browned and the vegetables are tender. Spoon into a greased 2-quart casserole dish. Combine all remaining ingredients. Pour over rice mixture. Cover and bake at 325° for 50 minutes. Yields 8 servings.
