For vanilla/chocolate cream pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- egg yolks - 2 item
- butter or oleo - 1 Tbsp
- flour or cornstarch - 5 Tbsp
- 8-inch baked pie shell - 1 item
- 1/2 c milk - 1 item
How to make for vanilla/chocolate cream pie:
Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Blend in milk, vanilla and egg yolks. Add butter. Cook over low heat until thick.For Chocolate Pie: Add 4 tablespoons cocoa to first dry ingredients mixture and use 2 tablespoons butter.
For Lemon Pie: Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup lemon juice. Reduce milk by the same amount. Thoroughly blend milk into dry ingredients, then add lemon juice and remaining ingredients. Cook same as basic filling.
