- flour - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/4 lb
- cream
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- medium onions, sliced - 6 item
- chicken stock or 8 c - 8 c
- French bread - 1 item
- Swiss cheese, sliced - 1 item
How to make cream of onion soup:
Saut?© onions in butter until tender. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Gradually stir in chicken base or water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in cream just before serving. Put in ovenproof bowls. Add 1 slice toasted French bread. Top with Swiss cheese.
