Corn cob jelly
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 c
- pkg - 1 3/4
- water to cover - 1 item
- dried red corn cobs - 6 item
- oil of cinnamon to taste - 1 item
How to make corn cob jelly:
Break corn cobs into pieces. Put in large pot. Cover with water and bring to a rolling boil. Boil for 30 minutes. Add water during boiling period to maintain about same water level. Remove cobs and strain liquid. Measure 3 cups of liquid into a larger saucepan; stir in pectin. Bring to a full, rolling boil; then add sugar. Bring again to boiling, stirring until sugar is melted. Boil hard for 1 minute. Just before removing from heat, you add oil of cinnamon for flavor.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Vegetables, Jellies.
