Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- bacon drippings - 2 Tbsp
- corn meal - 1 c
How to make corn cakes:
Combine dry ingredients. Add fat and egg. Pour boiling water over mixture and mix. Let stand 5 minutes. Drop by tablespoon on lightly greased skillet. Brown on one side, turn and brown. Serve hot with butter.Recipe categories: Grains, Vegetables, Corn.
