Connecticut beef supper
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3/4 c
- sour cream - 3/4 c
- Crisco oil - 2 Tbsp
- cracker crumbs - 1 item
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 2 c
- large onions, sliced - 2 item
- can mushroom soup - 1 item
- medium potatoes, sliced - 4 item
- jar whole mushrooms - 1 1/2
- beef for stew - 2 lb
How to make connecticut beef supper:
Season meat and brown in oil with onions. Drain mushrooms and add enough water to make 1 cup. Stir liquid into meat. Simmer until tender. Put meat mixture in 9 x 13-inch pan. Arrange potatoes on meat. Mix soup, milk and sour cream. Pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with cheese.Bake, covered, 1 hour at 350°. Sprinkle with crumbs, if desired. Bake, uncovered, until potatoes are tender, 20 to 30 minutes, at 350°.
