Cocoa fudge sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- water - 1 c
- pure vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- Dutch process cocoa powder - 1 c
How to make cocoa fudge sauce:
Combine the water and sugar in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat and stir to dissolve the sugar. Increase the heat and bring to a rolling boil to form a sugar syrup. Let the syrup boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and whisk in cocoa powder. Return pan to medium heat and whisk 3 to 5 minutes until sauce is smooth and thick. Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla.Let the sauce cool completely; it will thicken slightly as it cools. Store the sauce in a tightly-covered container for up to 1 month in the refrigerator.
