Chicken marengo
Ingredients/Components
- chopped onion - 1 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- basil - 1 tsp
- can water - 1 item
- sliced mushrooms fresh or canned - 1 c
- chicken parts, skinned and boned if desired - 3 lb
- large Italian sweet sausages - 4 item
How to make chicken marengo:
Pierce sausages; simmer in water to cover for 15 minutes. Drain. Brown sausages in Pam sprayed pot. Remove and brown chicken pieces in pot. Spray again if needed. Remove meat and cook onions until tender, stirring frequently. Do not brown onions.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Poultry.
