Chicken and dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 item
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 1 c
- Bisquick - 1 c
- diced carrots - 3 c
- chicken, cut in serving pieces - 1 item
- small onions, diced - 2 item
- Dumplings:2 eggs
- or 2 stalks celery, diced - 1 item
How to make chicken and dumplings:
Dumplings:2 eggs1 c. flour1 c. Bisquick milk Place chicken in a large kettle. Cover with water. Add carrots, celery and onions. Sprinkle with salt. Simmer until chicken and vegetables are tender. Remove chicken and vegetables with slotted spoon. Thicken gravy with cornstarch and water mixture. Return vegetables and chicken to kettle. Place dumplings on chicken. Cover and cook for another 10 minutes or until dumplings are done in center.Dumplings: Place eggs in a bowl. Beat. Mix in dry ingredients. Add enough milk to make stiff dough. Drop by teaspoonful onto chicken and vegetables.
