Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- water - 6 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- pepper
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- slices bread - 3 item
- chicken - 3 lb
- poultry seasoning - 1 Tbsp
- cornmeal mix - 2 c
How to make chicken and dressing:
Cook chicken until tender in the water with salt. Remove chicken meat from bone and skin and cut into pieces. Reserve broth. Add four cups of the hot broth to cornmeal mix and bread crumbs. Stir in remaining ingredients, including chicken. Pour into well-greased baking pan and bake at 425° about thirty minutes.
