Ingredients/Components
- chopped nuts optional - 1/2 c
- Cool Whip - 1 item
- cans cherry pie filling - 2 oz
- stick margarine or butter - 1 item
- white or yellow cake mix - 1 item
How to make cherry crunch:
Pour the melted stick of butter over the dry cake mix in a mixing bowl. Stir with a fork until well combined. (Mixture should form a crumbly dough-like ball.) Stir in nuts at this point if desired; or if slightly crunchier nuts are desired, sprinkle them on top just before baking.Evenly spread both cans of cherry pie filling in the bottom of the baking pan. Crumble the cake mix and butter mixture evenly over the cherry pie filling. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve with Cool Whip or ice cream (better with Cool Whip).
