Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
- vanilla extract
- brown sugar
- butter - 1 c
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- shredded coconut - 1 c
- raisins - 1 c
- light corn syrup - 1 c
- can sweetened condensed milk - 1 item
- honey - 1/4 c
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- old-fashioned oats - 4 c
How to make caramels:
In a large bowl, combine oats and coconut; set aside. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, oil, honey and cinnamon; bring to a boil. remove from the heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over oat mixture; stir to coat. Spread in a large shallow baking pan. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool. Add raisins. Store in an airtight container.
