Caramel popcorn
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- sticks oleo - 2 item
- light brown sugar, firmly packed - 2 c
- popcorn 2 air popper loads - 6 qt
How to make caramel popcorn:
In Dutch oven or 2 1/2-quart saucepan, combine all but baking soda and popcorn. Bring to boil, stirring over medium-high heat. Stir constantly and bring to 260° (hard ball; after boiling, stir and cook 5 minutes if no candy thermometer is used). Stir in baking soda quickly but thoroughly. Pour at once over popcorn; stir. Bake at 200° for 1 hour; stir 2 or 3 times. Spread on wax paper to cool.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Grains.
