Ingredients/Components

• eggs - 5 item
• vanilla - 1/2 tsp
• milk - 1 c
• baking soda - 1/2 tsp
• nuts - 1 c
• plain flour - 3 c
• light brown sugar - 1 lb
• white sugar - 1 c
• shortening 1 part butter

How to make brown sugar pound cake:

Cream butter and shortening. Add sugars and cream again. Add eggs 1 at a time to mixture. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake in tube pan 1 hour at 325°.
