Beef and asparagus stir-fry
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- oil - 2 tsp
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- sliced green onions - 1/2 c
- hot cooked rice - 2 c
- lite soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
- top round steak, cut into 2 x 1/4-inch strips - 1 lb
- fresh asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces or 9 or 10 oz - 1 lb
How to make beef and asparagus stir-fry:
In small bowl, combine water, soy sauce, cornstarch and garlic powder. Blend well. Set aside.In a large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot. Add steak, asparagus, water chestnuts and onions. Stir-fry 4 to 6 minutes or until meat is cooked to desired doneness and vegetables are crisp-tender. Stir in cornstarch mixture. Stir-fry 1 to 3 minutes or until thickened and glossy. Serve immediately over hot cooked rice. Makes 4 (1 1/4 cup) servings.
