Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- uncooked rice - 1 c
- pork chops - 6 item
- boiling chicken or beef broth - 2 c
- each: chopped onion, celery and green pepper - 1/2 c
How to make baked pork chops and rice:
Brown chops on each side, sprinkling with salt and pepper in oil. Remove from skillet and drain. Add celery, onion and pepper. Add rice to skillet. Cook until vegetables are tender and rice is golden. Stir in thyme and broth. Place chops on top of rice. Cover and bake 30 minutes, until tender and liquid is absorbed.Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, One Dish meal.
