Apple crumble pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- ginger - 1/4 tsp
- lemon juice - 3 Tbsp
- grated lemon peel - 1 tsp
- thinly sliced, peeled cooking apples - 6 c
How to make apple crumble pie:
Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and lemon peel. Sprinkle apple slices with lemon juice and add sugar mixture; toss and coat. Fill an unbaked pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate with mixture.Combine the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour and the spices. Cut in the butter until crumbly; sprinkle on top of the apples.
Cover edge of pie with foil. Bake in a 375° oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
