Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 qt
- gelatin - 2 tsp
- sugar optional - 1 Tbsp
- flavoring optional - 1 item
- starter yogurt - 1 Tbsp
How to make yogurt:
Heat milk to almost boiling (180°) to kill undesirable bacteria. Add gelatin, which has been soaked in 1/4 cup water. Add sugar and flavoring, if desired. Cool to lukewarm; a little warmer is better. Add a level tablespoon leftover yogurt for starter. Bought yogurt may be used, but usually works slower. Set in warm place until thick. Three to 4 hours makes the mildest yogurt.
