Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 c
- vinegar - 3 c
- celery seed
- turmeric
- medium white onions, sliced - 6 item
- white mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- sliced small yellow squash - 4 qt
- coarse medium salt plain - 1/2 c
How to make yellow squash pickles:
Slice squash, add onion. Add salt; cover with cracked ice. Mix thoroughly; let stand 3 hours.Combine remaining ingredients; add squash and onion which have been completely drained. Heat to a boil; seal in hot sterilized jars.
