Ingredients/Components

  • dry yeast - 2 pkg
  • tepid water - 1 c
  • melted Crisco - 1/3 c
  • sugar - 1/3 c
  • sifted plain flour
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • salt - 1 tsp

How to make yeast rolls:

Mix yeast and water well. Add Crisco, sugar and 1/2 of flour. Add beaten egg and salt. Add remaining flour and let rise 2 hours. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter; place on baking sheet. Let rise 2 more hours and bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes. They can be cooked about 5 minutes, frozen, then finish baking when needed.
