Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 6
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- yeast - 1 pkg
- + 1 tsp - 1/4 c
- lukewarm water - 3/4 c
How to make yeast rolls:
In a cup, put 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 package yeast and 3/4 cup warm water. Set aside. In a bowl, put 2 tablespoons shortening, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 cup sugar, and pour in 1 cup boiling water. Let cool to lukewarm. Add yeast mixture and beaten egg. Add enough flour (5 to 6 cups) to make soft dough. Place in refrigerator until ready to make into rolls. Let rolls stand 2 hours before baking.
